Our Vision

To impact the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers by filling a void in the support and literacy available to children with cancer and their caregivers.

Our Mission

The foundation aims include:

Provide support to children with cancer. These support systems and tools can alleviate the pain and discomfort suffered by young cancer patients.

Invest in the design and development of an interactive mobile applications to educate kids and their families about cancer.

OUR GOALS

CANSA TLC

Partnering with CANSA TLC to support long-term treatment of cancer patients by sponsoring identified children’s oncology wards with Broviac (port) implants. This will make the treatment more bearable for children and they will not have to fear regular blood tests, treatment, needles and members of staff.

CREATE AWARENESS

Create an education awareness drive with schools during the month of September (childhood cancer awareness month).

CORPORATE INVOLVEMENT

Get corporates involved at an annual gala event in September to commemorate and raise funds for childhood cancer.

WITS

In 2018 we will continue our partnership with WITS Junior Football Club for the Annual Tyler Sassman Memorial Cup, creating awareness and raising funds for children with cancer.

WE SUPPORT FAMILIES

CREATE AWARENESS OF THE WARNING SIGNS OF CHILDHOOD CANCER

If the cancer is detected early, then chances of surviving Childhood Cancer may be as high as 77%.

‘Innocent children are falling victim to cancer. No child and family should have to endure what Tyler went through. This will become our new mission...’

The Tyler Sassman Cancer Foundation was established to continue the legacy of Tyler Sassman. Tyler was a special boy who impacted the lives of so many of his peers with his tender spirit, big heart and contagious smile. Tyler was diagnosed with a Grade 4 glioblastoma brain cancer in June 2016 and lost his brave fight to the disease 7 months after his diagnosis at the tender age of 16.
